Does this logo mean something to you? To us, it says a lot!

The logo used in the new chain “Vkousno i totchka,” which in Russia is replacing the giant McDonald’s, is very similar to what we designed in 2021 for Matosmix!

Did Matosmix’s logo serve as inspiration or was it mere coincidence?

In an attempt to replace the American fast-food chain, which left the country due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the first “Russian McDonald’s” opened its doors this Sunday in Moscow.

Under the slogan “the name changes, love remains” emerges a logo that represents two stylized French fries and a red dot on a green background.

This new image is very similar to what we created in 2021 for Matosmix, a company that manufactures animal feed.

<strong”…image of this new brand: the logo is (really) very similar to that of a Portuguese company that produces animal feeds.”

Rafaela Laja, CNN

This coincidence was noticed by the international press, which accuses the Russian chain of having stolen Matosmix’s logo. Since then, the international hype being generated on social networks has been enormous, having been reported in media outlets in different countries.

Our Rebranding for Matosmix

Although Matosmix has been in existence for 24 years, it underwent a rebranding in 2021, developed by us, Weboost.

For the development of the update to its graphic identity, we based it on its previous logo. Following the same line of thought, we developed a new line of communication, and the entire construction of Matosmix’s new identity was based on complete and compounded feeds for animals.
